About ME

A Higher Calling for Senior Care

Since taking care of my Grandma Bean as a teenager, I have enjoyed working with and accompanying older adults. I am pursuing a M.A. in speech-language pathology (SLP) from The George Washington University; my planned specialty is working with adults, particularly seniors, who have neurological disease or injury, like stroke patients.

My previous educational credits are a B.A. in political science (2017) and a M.A. in linguistics (2020), both from Boston College.  I have worked in a number of language-heavy fields, including ongoing work as a freelance writer and editor.

My hobbies include knitting, crochet, sewing, singing, and practicing my Russian.

Why Saint Zita?

Zita of Lucca was a servant in Medieval Italy. Pious, dutiful, and generous,  it was said that the angels did her chores for her if she was late returning home from daily mass. She served the same family for 60 years and was hailed as a saint by the people of Lucca even during her life.

Canonized by the Catholic Church, Zita is the patron of household workers. I chose Saint Zita as the namesake  of my business because she exemplifies that humble service to others is a higher calling.
